Spravato® (Esketamine) Treatment

At Driftless Area Behavioral Services, we are proud to offer Spravato® (esketamine) nasal spray, an innovative treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and certain adults experiencing major depressive disorder (MDD) with acute suicidal thoughts or behaviors, when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Unlike traditional antidepressants that may take several weeks to become effective, Spravato® works differently in the brain and may provide symptom improvement more quickly for some individuals. It is administered as a nasal spray in our comfortable clinic under the supervision of our trained medical team.

Because Spravato® is available only through the FDA-required REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) program, each treatment includes a minimum 2-hour observation period to ensure your safety and comfort. During this time, our staff will monitor you and provide a calm, supportive environment throughout your visit.

Before beginning treatment, our providers will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to determine whether Spravato® is an appropriate option for you. We also assist with insurance prior authorizations and work closely with patients to make the treatment process as smooth as possible.
